Kwarikwar Islamic and Primary Quranic Memorisation School is located in the Kwarikwar Village in Bukedea District, Eastern Uganda.

The school started in the year 2017 with support from Kwarikwar Orphan Care (KOC); a community-based organization with support from donors around the world taking part in the online crowd fundraising.

We have 250 orphans who need sponsorship support

Kwarikwar Islamic and Primary Quranic Memorisation School teaches both English and Arabic studies on a daily basis.

It has a staff of 15 teachers with both English and Arabic skills. The school has a total of 250 students - where the majority are orphans.  

After realizing the increased need and importance of education in the village, this school was formed by a community-based organization (CBO) to eradicate and enhance both Islamic and English studies for a better future for these orphans at Kwarikwar Orphan Care.

It is hereby we ask for your support to sponsor these orphans Insha'Allah and with your support, it will make a massive difference to the orphans along with maintenance and cost of operations. 

The government of Uganda announced the re-opening of schools which has been closed since last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pandemic has meant the children were unable to be educated during this period. The children don't have the luxury of remote learning and the Internet.

Children have now been reporting back to school since the 10th of January 2022. Due to the increased need in this local ar,ea we are needing to raise funds to sponsor the orphans due to the lack of funding since the pandemic started. 

The community in Kwarikwar in Bukedea District has a large number of orphans who lost their parents due to the pandemic. As a result of lockdown and shutting school operations, we have run into issues of being able to provide financial support to the orphans to attend school. 

Basic necessities such as stationery, school meals, and education material are not available. The school is also in dire condition and needs to be renovated with new desks and chairs. 

The pandemic has hit the local agricultural activities and this has further compounded the financial constraints on many people. 

We, therefore, are asking for your support to overcome this dire situation.

Currently, we are raising funds for the first term commencing 1st May 2022 to 30th June 2022.

The total cost to sponsor 250 orphans for Term 1 for 3 months is $ 9,000 USD

Kwarikwar Orphan Care will monitor and run all activities involved in this project with the help and guidelines from donors. 

We can set up a WhatsApp group to keep the donors informed of the activities on the ground. Donors will receive regular updates on the progress of the program (before, during, and after). Updates will be through our social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) and through private donor email. 

This will be done for transparency and to show the donor the use of their funds have ended up in being used for the intended purposes.

Donors if they are willing, will also be granted an opportunity to visit the project (school) to check on the orphans being sponsored (before sponsorship, during sponsorship or after sponsorship).

Sahl ibn Sa’d reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Myself and the caretaker of an orphan will be in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together. (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5659)

The project will be managed by Kwarikwar Orphan Care a charity established back in 2017 with a rich history in the successful execution of many empowerment projects in Easter Uganda.

Kwarikwar Orphan Care is a Voluntary Community-Based Organization founded to help humanity in need and poverty in rural villages through its activities of;

The organization has a well-organized structure with dedicated experienced staff to carry out assigned activities in the time allocated. 

Our aim is always to ensure the maximum donation amount goes directly to the intended beneficiaries of the projects. Of course, as an organization, we have operating and running costs - but we always aim to ensure the beneficiaries of the donations are the ones that benefit. 

We are transparent to our donors as we share and update every step of the project through social media platforms.

Support orphans with a monthly allowance for basic life needs and education. It's always hard for a child to lose a parent but the humanity in us serves as a reminder that we can take care of them in all situations. 

We support families and the orphan care with a monthly allowance to be able to keep the orphans in schools, provide a comfortable environment to learn, and feed them appropriate meals.

We are currently sponsoring around 250 orphans, once we enroll an orphan we continue to support them till they reach a certain age, graduate school, or start working and provide for themselves.
