Help Build Masjid Taqwa in Rural Eastern Uganda

Lelya is a remote village in the Kibuku District in Eastern Uganda. Around 250 km North-East from the capital city of Kampala; the remote village is a 5-hour road trip and life in the village is agriculturally driven with farming as a means of income for the villagers.

We need your support to construct Masjid Taqwa

The village itself has a large Muslim community of approximately 600 and is growing Alhamdulillah on a yearly basis. The village currently lacks a permanent Masjid structure for prayers, washrooms, and wudhu facilities. The current Masjid is a makeshift sheltered structure made from mud, wood, and tree branches.

When prayer time comes, the current prayer area accommodates about 70 people only; praying is quite terrible conditions given the openness, specifically when the weather gets windy or when it rains. Also, many members of the Muslim community tend to travel some distance to the local town for prayers and on Friday. Our Muslim brothers and sisters from the community pray in difficult conditions suffer from the narrowness of prayer room space and this is especially true for Friday prayers, the holy month of Ramadan, and Eid days (Eid Al-Fitr and Eid- Ul-Adha) prayers. 

Our mission in this project is not only to construct a permanent structure of the Masjid but to build a strong Muslim community that is centered around the Masjid; to encourage Salah, Quran Classes, Dawah, and general well-being – InshaAllah.

This is a humble appeal to our Ummah to help us build a spacious and permanent Masjid with washroom and wudhu facilities for performing prayers and other dawah activities. Having a permanent and more spacious Masjid in Lelya Village our mission is to provide a platform for sharing Islamic, Quran, and authentic Hadiths and Sunnah Teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Be part of this amazing opportunity for a perpetual good deed in Sadaqah Jariyah where Taqwa Masjid can be a beacon of hope, a beacon for spiritual empowerment, a beacon for goodness InshaAllah. A Masjid of multifunctional purposes, prayer activities center along with religion and character-building education while introducing the Islamic culture.

Our objective is to construct a permanent spacious Masjid measuring 30 feet by 35 feet to accommodate 160 people during prayer times. We shall also construct decent washrooms with a wudhu facility and dig a borehole with a water well to provide clean water to the masjid.

Uthman Ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “whoever builds a mosque, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise” 

Humanity Aid Foundation and Project Management

The project will be managed by Humanity Aid Foundation – a charity established back in 2015 and rich history in the successful execution of many empowerment projects in Easter Uganda. Humanity Aid Foundation is a Voluntary Community-Based Organization founded to alleviate poverty in rural villages through its activities of; Water Wells, Education, Agriculture, Emergency Relief, Ramadan, Qurbani, and other similar activities.

Alhamdulillah - We have also completed many projects similar to this that gives us the experience to deliver this project successfully InshaAllah. 

The project will be completed in four phases as outlined below and is expected to take three months and we will provide regular updates on the progress as we proceed with the phases InshaAllah. 

InshaAllah with the funds collected we intend to spend the funds across the different phases of the project.
